Commonly asked questions about Home Fellowships

What to expect?
Home Fellowships will consist of worship, teaching from God’s Word, communion, prayer and fellowship.

When is Home Fellowship?
We meet weekly at 10am for church in the various homes from 6 September – 27 September 2020.

How do people join a group?
Go to the website and select which group will be best for you. Contact the host to see if there is space available (see Covid Guidelines below).

What if a Home Fellowship is full?
Please select a different group and telephone the host. If you are unable to find a group, please email nmcconnell@churchofscotland.org.uk  or simon.kennedy@downfieldmainschurch.org for assistance in finding the right fit.

Are my children allowed to come?
Yes, we encourage children to be part of the gatherings. Please see the homes that say 'kid friendly.'

Will children’s ministry be provided?
The short answer is yes. Please see the kid friendly Home Fellowships.

What is the format of the meeting?
In conjunction with Acts 2:42-46:
Fellowship and welcome at 10am.
Facebook Live Worship, Word and communion.
Discussion and conversation led by the host leaders.
Prayer/Personal Ministry.

What do I need to bring?
Yourself and a Bible.

I am not a member of the Downfield Mains, does that matter?
Not at all. We believe that God brings people together and you are most welcome to contact the host and come.
COVID-19 Guidance
The latest Scottish Government guidelines advise indoor meetings consist of 2 households (6 people).
Downfield Mains also advise that people pay particular attention to hygiene and distancing measures when visiting one another. Personal hand sanitisers are located at every Home Fellowship.

If you are sick, please take a week away from the fellowship and notify the host so that the group can pray for you.

Tracking and Tracing
Names and telephone numbers will be collected for every person attending the Home Fellowship (including children) to assist the NHS Test and Trace Service. This information will only be used where necessary to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and will adhere to GDPR regulations.

We are also suggesting you download the Protect Scotland app.
